This national monument has a colourful history dating back to 1900. A Chinese businessman in Singapore offered it to Dr Sun Yat Sen for his revolutionary cause - to free China from the feudal lords and end 200 years of Qing Dynasty rule. In 1964 the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry turned the villa into a memorial to commemorate Dr Sun Yat Sen and his revolutionary movement.

Highlights include a bronze statue of Dr Sun Yat Sen, and a vast collection of photographs, artefacts and an audio-visual presentation of the villa.
