Nuwara Eliya is one of the top tourist destinations in Sri Lanka. This beautiful mountainous area is actually developed by the British as a summer holiday spot when the sun shine is hot in the plains of Sri Lanka. You can reach Nuwera Eliya by road and can train service up to the nearest city Nawalapitiya. A good familiar private coach driver can take you there within 4 hours of time from Colombo.

Don't miss the April Spring Festival held in Nuwera Eliya city. It is a fun and fair event for days with horse racing, motor racing, golf tournament, annual flower show, and carnival and school band parade.

Nuwara Eliya Spring festival 2010 will be delayed by 10 days from its regular starting date of April 1. This year the Nuwara Eliya spring festival will start on 10/04/2010 and will close on 30/40/2010.
